ADHD Misbehaving or Misdiagnosed

The CDC’s website on ADHD is an informational site that raises awareness of a common neurodevelopmental disorder. The increase in the number of children being diagnosed with ADHD has prompted the CDC to create a website. The CDC provide practical information on ADHD. First, it lists the signs and symptoms associated with ADHD. Second, it describes the three different types of ADHD. Third, site goes on to describe what the risk factors and the causes are. Fourth, the website provides diagnoses and treatment options. Finally, the CDC offers a “Get Help” section which provides information for the public to access, if they believe their child is presenting symptoms. Additional resources and links are listed directly on the page. The CDC wants all children to reach their full potential and gives practical information, promoting healthy choices and preparedness to combat this disorder.

The CDC is a global leader in public health practices. The center promotes healthy habits, prevention practices and preparedness. The purpose of the CDC is to distribute valuable information and resources to families that have a child struggling with ADHD. Today the CDC is a premier health agency that seeks to promote health efforts to prevent and control infectious diseases. The CDC appeals to a person’s compassion coupled with sympathy. The audience are parents, teachers, and the general public. The writers tone is standard, the word choice is plain and a relatively formal style.
