The class this semester was good in many aspects despite some few shortcomings. Throughout the semester, much of what was taught was well understood and had clear content. The lecturer seemed to have a good mastery of the subject that made the delivery efficient. Student- teacher interaction was helpful in that; students were able to ask most of the questions that disturbed them. However, amidst all that, some areas needed improvement for the sake of future students. The way the lecturer handled assignments needs to be improved. Many times when the work was handed in for marking, it took a long time before the lecturer returned it. Thus, revision time was little and could have led to failure. Another area is on curriculum syllabus coverage. It would be good if the syllabus content was covered in advance to allow enough time for revision and reflection about the topics covered. It boosts the students’ confidence in handling exams.

Theories of motivation

Motivation is what drives people into constantly do some things. According to McClelland’s theory, there are three basic needs developed by people from their experiences in different situations. They acquire the need for achievement, affiliation and power. When one is determined to achieve something, they try as much they can to pursue their goals in the best way possible. They have a deep sense of accomplishing various issues of their lives, and this leads them to be responsible for their personal issues. The need for affiliation leads one to developing healthy relationships with others. They are more into seeking acceptance from others. Those with the need for power, always want to lead others. The need for achievement became real to me by the way I worked hard in class to get good grades.
