STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Give a man health and a course to steer, and he will never stop to trouble about whether he's happy or not. The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future or anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly. Our health care system is in a constant state of fluctuation and commotion. It is sometimes difficult for the health care consumer to identify a valuable resource when they need one.

Growing up as a child I had this passion for the medical aspect of life. Seeing people suffer and die from diseases, caused a serious burden in my heart and this has stirred up the desire to pursue a career and contribute to the management of the healthcare system to effective and productive levels in Africa. Biology was always one of my favorite subjects. This was because it brought me closer to exploring and answering some of my basic inquisitiveness about the human condition. 

A key motivation to my choice of study is my undergraduate program Microbiology (what subject contributed to your motivation. Name like 3 subjects that gave you the motivation). Which grew further with my industrial training in a hospital (as what? What did you do in the hospital as an experience to motivate your career?) as my research work on prevalence of malaria across South-West Nigeria (what exactly did u do? What was ur objective? I hail from a developing nation where the health system is faced with lots of challenges such as deficient health system in the rural areas, crude medical equipments, dearth of technology and increased cost of accessing medical treatment. The popular slogan “health for all” in 2020 has not been embraced by most governments in Africa therefore there is great fear that Africa might not meet up with millennium development goal on health.
