SOCIETAL PROBLEM: Electricity Problem in Rural Areas
One of the key challenges of the electricity sector is development of rural electrification. This has been a problem not only in India but also across the globe. Even today, vast majorities of the people in the rural areas in the developing and under developed countries do not have access to commercial forms of energy like electricity. Most of these people are dependent on the traditional fuels of wood, dung and crop residue and often use primitive and inefficient technologies.
