As background fact, Mr. Simard Hired by Ancol Ltd. At the beginning Simard found out that the relationship among the employees and management was not strong enough. Simard tried to fill this gap by encouraging both sides to better relationship and communication understanding.

In Simard thought reaching to result of raise the growth for organization would require increasing the level of trust among employees and management could build better working environment, increase the productivity level and job satisfaction, and reduce the stress level at work. However, to build this idea, Simard removed the clock system which was used to record employees report shift. Analyzing this step lead us to that offering more freely work environment to employees and make employees realized that management count on them; in other word, increase the trust level in them.

Problems and Symptoms:

The main goal of removing the clock was increase the level of relationship between employees and management. Even though Simard had such a positive intention, he missed some critical keys to achieve the goal.

1. He did not do any research internally or externally. In other word, he did not look back if the company had taken the same approach.

2. He did not analyze his decision that if he removed the clock was there any business risk associated with it?

3. Had neither discussion with higher management nor the worker union.

4. Affecting the competence level of supervision which would lead to other problem such as payroll and operation which were problems among departments.

Symptom of new problems:

* When employees found out that they were not being monitored any more for attendances as well as supervisor facing difficulty and not able to detect any misuse, the result was:

* Inequality at workplace arose because some employees take advantage of being unmonitored and leaving a considerable number of employees feel unsatisfied.
