1. What kind of paper is the National Enquirer?

Answer: Also known as the Enquirer an American supermarket tabloid now published by American Media Inc. was an abolitionist newspaper founded by Quaker Benjamin Lundy in 1836. William Randolph Hearst, in 1926 the paper was known as The New York Enquirer because of Mr. Hearst. Purchased in 1952 by Generoso Pope Jr...The Enquirer provides the top hot news of the media and provides the readers a board range of topics, and it enables timely responses to events that often result in news scoops around the world.

2. Was it ethical for the National Enquirer to try to avoid suit in California?

Answer: No, because the National Enquirer largest circulation of sales is in California…. I feel that the state of California should have some jurisdiction. Shirley Jones, live in this state and with the reputation of her career she is known and the people of Florida should have to be accounted for their action in which the state the damages are done. They have a business set in the State of California although they are not from there the largest accounts of revenue is.

3. Are the defendants subject to suit in California? Why or why not?

Answer: Yes the National Enquirer largest revenue is in the same state that Shirley Jones resides in and although The First Amendment concerns do not enter into the jurisdictional analysis. Such concerns would needlessly complicate an already imprecise inquiry.
