Personal Goals Essay

At this point in my life, the most important thing for me is to be successful and make a path that my daughter can not only follow, but want to exceed. For the next academic year, I have several goals and a plan I want to accomplish to further my career and improve my personal growth. I have set several goals in the past couple of years, and sometimes I even set daily goals, but I have put off the goal of continuing my education for over a year. As the year of 2012 began to come to an end, I realized I was about to let another year go by and leave my education on hold once again; I did not want to do that. So, in December, I made the first step to end the procrastination and enrolled here at Georgia Military College online campus. Now, as a college student once again, to guarantee I succeed, I have not only set academic goals, but personal goals to make sure I go all the way.

My academic goals are to complete my Biology program, receive my Associates degree with honors, and use the knowledge I have gained to further my education in pharmacy school. In order to complete my degree program, I have set the goal to complete all my remaining classes by the the Fall of this year. In order to accomplish this goal, I have set daily expectations to be successful in each course to ensure I pass. I set aside a set time to start and/or complete assignments so that I stay ahead, study for at least an hour and a half daily, and I am only taking two courses a quarter so that I am not overloading myself and making sure I can give my all to each class. Once I have completed my degree program, I will study and prepare to take the PCAT exam, which is a specialized test that helps identify qualified applicants to pharmacy colleges. Then, I will be able to apply to pharmacy school. My three top choices that I hope to be accepted to are South University, University of South Carolina, and University of Georgia; I hope to complete my Pharm.D degree by the age of...
