1. What leadership steps did John Chambers take to ensure that Cisco remained flexible and adaptive?

Cisco CEO, John Chambers was committed to building collaboration as a way of keeping his company agile and responsive to a rapidly shifting competitive and technological environment. In demanding collaboration within his top team, aligning rewards with desire new behaviors, and removing and replacing those who could not or would not make the transition, he was exercising leadership.

John Chambers had to implement effective leadership to where it can be exercised at all levels of an organization. First, effective leadership shapes the behaviors of others in the organization. No matter how talented an individual may be or what personal traits that individual may possess. When an organization is attempting transformational change, the behavior of leaders is meant to impact changes in the behavior of other.

Next is mobilizing employees that involves creating an internalized commitment to achieving the new goals of the organization. Finally, is mobilizing adaptive behavior suggests that not all behaviors resulting from the actions of leaders are equally desirable.

2. It is said that if you are not leading change, you are not leading. Do you agree or disagree with that statement? Explain.

I agree with this statement because I believe that as a leader it one’s purpose to lead with change because a leader should be constantly striving to help their followers change in a more positive manner or direction. Organizations and individuals who remain the same are conformed to being comfortable and they won’t seek out any type of change, even if it improves them, sometimes it could be factors like: afraid of change, lack of knowledge, lack of resources, and even laziness.

Leading change helps drive motivation to others to embrace a change instead of rejecting it, and by doing this, leaders not only help themselves but...
