General Douglas MacArthur was the leader of the UN troops. He took the UN

troops and attacked the North Korean forces from behind, trapping the North

Koreans between them and the UN forces on the border of china . He went against the united states rule and made china get involved in the war as well. Those actions made him loose his job and made the war last longer also lost half of his army.
