Severson, Scandalous Obligation Chapters 1-6

1.Responsibility means that one needs to own up to ones actions even if it is not one's fault. It is the right thing to do to be responsible in society. My definition may be different from other people but this comes from my own upbringing and personal experience. I had my two sibling and four cousins that I would help my mom look after, I was responsible for making sure the girls were entertained and stayed out of trouble if something did happen, I would obviously point the finger somewhere else first then I would take the blame because they were my responsibility. Even now if someone screws up at work it is my fault because they are my responsibility.

5.When I was twelve an incent had come to light within my mother's side of the family, these people lived across the street from us, the incident changed our family forever. the theoretical line had been drawn between our family and my extended family. what had happened was my older cousin was abusing my brother, which was wrong and the extended family said it wasn't "boys will be boys" was one of the phrases. The line was drawn both ways actually we had placed them on the other side of the line just as they had placed us on the other side of the line. When we moved that is when we really drew the line.

7.there are many things in this world but competition and responsibility do not cancel each other out when it comes to some school sports where you need to be competitive but you also need to be responsible for your actions and grades off the completion field.
