Summary: Not so clever country?

Jacobs is the senior lecturer at Maranundah Uni who develop the educational policy. This is an opinion Jacobs claims when government cut uni funding it effected negatively on the economy and society.Firstly, uni graduatesearn more money than high school leavers and also pay higher taxes. Moreover, uni made important benefits at a local level.Furthermore, graduates can benefit the society in a range of ways.To be more specific, society benefits from the skills that graduates contribuate to society. In sum,as we enter the second decade of this century, this country needs more, not fewer uni graduates.

Discussion:Not so clever country?

1.Jacobs insists that cutting funds for uni leads to higher fee and, therefore, fewer students. But I don’t agree with this ,because that if government cuts funding, schools will lack of money to buy educational equipment,as a result, schools will increase the fee, many parents can’t afford this.

2.Jacobs argues that we need more university-educated people because they play a important role in our country. In my opinion ,I support this too.The higer education people got,the more knowledge they will recived.More university-educated people ,the level of economic success will go up.This is also a benefit for society to develop its own technology and update public facilities.

3. Jacobs supports that uni graduates earn more money than high school leavers and pay more taxe.Actually ,I don’t agree with this idea. For the reason is that there are so many people who graduated from high school can get more money than uni graduates, they learn skills about management from their own experience when they solve problems in society.
