What is buying behavior and how is someone affected by his or her own buying behavior? Buying behavior is the decision processes and actions of people who are buying and using certain products. Consumer buying behavior is the decision processes and purchasing activities of people who purchase products for personal use.

The lifestyle someone has is shown through activities, interests, and personal opinions. Someone’s lifestyle is shown through the way they spend their time with family and friends and the general outlook that one has in life. A consumer’s lifestyle influences their buying behavior dramatically, even subconsciously. Our choices can be bad or good, foolish or well thought out. My lifestyle is frugal and fiscally conservative. For example, before I go food shopping, I always check to see if there are any coupons online just to save a few dollars. I am a college student with very a limited income. Even though I may only save a few dollars, I think it’s worth it because after I save all this money, I can do better things with it. I believe saving my money now has great payouts in the future. For example, I saved enough money to not only travel to Florida for spring break with some friends, but to also afford a summer class so I can graduate on time. My lifestyle influences my buying behavior in several ways. I save money whenever possible and when I see something that appeals to me; I ask how much I really need it. If I find a product I like, I use extended decision by doing research online to see if better prices exist and see if any alternative exists. Another purchase example is my decision to buy a new pair of shoes after not doing so for about a year. I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Store and looked up and down the aisle. I found a pair I really liked but cost about one hundred dollars. Instead of buying them I went home and found the same pair new on Amazon saving about fifty dollars.
