Mike Lupica is one of the most famous sports writers in America. He was born on May 11, 1952 in New York but grew up with his family in Nashua, New Hampshire. His nationality is Italian-American. Mike currently lives in Connecticut with his wife, Taylor Lupica, three sons, and daughter. He loved writing ever since he was a kid and he hasn’t stopped since. He began his career in 1975 when he became a sportswriter in Pottstown, Pennsylvania right after he graduated Boston College. In 1977, his life changed when the New York Daily News hired him to cover the New York Knicks basketball team. Mike still currently works for the New York Post. For 30+ years, he has added magazines, fiction novels, non-fiction books on sports, sports biographies, and TV to his resume. For the past 15 years, he has been a TV anchor for ESPN’s The Sports Reporters and also hosted his own program, “The Mike Lupica Show” on ESPN2.

Mike released his first novel in 1974 called “Dead Air”. Mike Lupica only writes about sports, which interests many kids/teens, including myself, since many of them enjoy sports. His purpose for writing is not only to entertain his readers with his novels but also to educate them about sports with his sport columns published on magazines and newspapers. He has shot up the New York Times bestseller list because of his novels, which include, Travel Team, Heat, Miracle on 49th Street, Summer Ball, Million-Dollar Throw, and Hero. He has been able to stay at the top of his field because of his experience and insider’s knowledge on sports.

I began reading his books since middle school when I started to get more into sports. Most of his books are about realistic events happening to kids in the sports world and he makes it very interesting so readers want to keep reading on. Mike’s books are enjoyable for all age groups but his...
