Problem and Exercises (1-6)

1. As forms/reports are created at the end of the SDLC phase, I would start by collecting all pertinent data and information needed about the report. I would ask question about who will be the users, purpose, when used and needed. I would then use programming language or Visual Basic. After creating the prototype, then I would evaluate the prototype with to users to see if anything needs to be adjusted based on need.

2. The people in my department that would use the information would be all the assistant directors in our office. The purpose of the information is to see if the student’s qualify for the financial aid based on hours enrolled as a full time student. The output is needed after funds have paid after census date when enrollment is reported to the national clearing house. The output is reported back to the director, the information sent back to the director for review.

3. Problems that could occur are the ID’s are not listed, and incorrect ID is entered. It could display inaccurate items purchased, the amount billed for is incorrect. This information should never be wrong in a data base; if so the mistake will generate more mistakes. This will dissatisfy the customer and create problems for the business.. Prototyping allow the designer to produce a well working database. The prototype will be tested in many ways to generate a report free or errors, or not produce bad reports.

5. With the reports that we receive at work, what can be done to improve them is to ride of the information that is not needed to complete the work assignment. Also they could be designed better to provide information that is critical and is needed when looking up a student.

6. Windows 7, Turbo tax, Clip Art for the Liturgical year. Basically these Items are easy to learn and a user friendly. Some were low in cost and have life to upgrades. What made me continue to want this package is due to the updates are free and I don’t...
