Basic Speech Outline
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific purpose: To persuade my audience about the right ways of having a relationship, which is to get into one only when they are ready for a lifetime commitment.
Introduction:
I. What exactly is happening? Trend, people are doing it. Peer pressure, being laughed at for not having a partner. Pleasure, for the fun of it. Pressure from family, parents kept pushing to find a partner, some due to the age (as they grew older, parents are more impatient). Some think that it’s the only way to survive.
II. Story of a (perfect?) wedding.
III. Questions for the audience: Do you have any girl(s) or boy(s) from your past? Ever wondered they will show up on your wedding day? How many time have you given your heart away in short term relationships? Have you got anything left for your future wife/husband?
(Transition: Let’s take a look at the definition(s) of love)
