Cyberbullying

What is cyberbullying? Cyberbullying is when someone sends insulting or threating emails, texts or instant messages directly to someone using a computer or cellphone .It means spreading hurtful comments about someone through emails, blogs, online profiles, or chat rooms. There is so many Way to hurt someone through technology. So why is there no laws or punishments for it? It’s just recently united States have been stating law to help reduce cyberbullying, but is it enough? These laws need to be strictly enforced by the government, and for the bullies to be held accountable for their actions. I am writing this arguementive research paper to open your eyes to a problem that’s been over looked. This problem of been bullied online is a grown epidemic that need to be stopped and controlled. We as people fight for different cause’s everyday so why not support the cause of saving our youth from this hate crime.

People has argued that the cyberbully laws are a violation of the first Amendment, more like the freedom of speech and the freedom of expression. In an article I have through my research a young male who lived in Michigan who was 15 he and a friend created this website in 2001.The website was called “Satan’s Webpage” and according to the young male it was created for laughs. The website listed people I wish was died or would die. Which listed names of several students at their schools. A parent notified the police about the site, it’s a threat and posed an infraction against the cyberbully laws. The young male who created the site was interviewed and admitted to creating and also contributing to the site. He later sent to local psychiatric hospital. After three days, doctors released him as not a threat to himself and others. His school then suspended him for the first semester. Later his parents sued the school district for violating his freedom of expression he ends up winning the case against the...
