Kelly Estate had only one major layoff since the start of business. Employees make some of the highest wages in Louisiana at this organization. There are generous bonus packages and vacations.

Affected workers might suffer a mental disorder, such as depression. Employers often mention the need to cut costs as the main reason that they conduct layoffs. The morale, productivity and commitment of workers who are not laid off are challenged after a layoff, not to mention the impact that layoffs have on the economy. The big layoff they had in 2000 caused more problems with the employees. They start small talk about the company policies and procedures. The department policies were change in short notices. Employees have to carry around the employee manual to make sure their safety and know the new policies.
