Running a business can be tough in today’s society, staffing can be a major issue in most businesses. It is very hard to find employees that are available during all hours of the day. In today’s society it is hard to find employees that will accommodate the scheduling issues at hand, and find a home/work life balance. I suggest that outsourcing some of the work to India can alleviate some of the challenges that we are faced with in the morning. Rosebush , Leavell, and Maniam (2012) agreed that “The reality that outsourcing is an integral part of the business model in the U.S needs to be understood and analyzed.” (p. 100)
In order to keep the flow of the business steady, the work needs to be addressed in a specific order; the fastest growing outsourcing activities is logistics (Mandell, 1993). We begin with data entry, which can be done practically any time of day if this task is completed at night when the employees go home we begin the day in a great position. Mcglaughlin & Fitsimmons stated (1996)"Beating the clock" describes the competitive advantages gained owing to the fact that one can bypass the constraints of the clock and the constraints of domestic time zones, including time-based domestic work rules and regulations. Companies in the USA have long known that combining the demand from multiple time zones could improve the productivity of reservation clerks and telemarketers. (p.43) When the employees come in each morning the data entry portion is complete and assigned in queues at the beginning of each day.
Outsourcing can allow the operation to run smoother at an affordable cost, and alleviate the overload that can be waiting for the employees in the morning. This process allows the company to operate with more employees at a fraction of the cost.
