The Sperm and the Egg

Here us a story about Pootis, the amazing Sperm, and Kofi, the delicate Egg. Today is the day that both Pootis and Kofi are going too fertilized. Fertilization is when Pootis and Kofi get fused together creating a new individual person which is also known as an embryo; later turning into a fetus. Kofi has been patiently waiting since her egg was produced 29 years ago. Kofi started off in the fetal ovaries and was chosen over the two million other eggs. Pootis on the other hand is also lucky because he gets to be in race to reach Kofi first. He is competing against about 300 million other sperm.

Pootis’s life started off in the seminiferous tubules. These tubules are located inside the male testes. Pootis lived here for about two months while he matured and grew. Recently, Pootis moved to epididymis. This is where sperm are stored before the male ejaculates. While Pootis is hanging out he is being coated with secretions from the male’s prostate gland. These secretions will help Pootis reach Kofi. When the male reaches sexual climax he will ejaculate. During ejaculation a huge force will push Pootis through the urethra into the woman’s vagina. The urethra is a tube that runs from the epididymis through the penis shaft to the opening of the penis. After Pootis and his competition are discharged into the vagina and the race to Kofi begins.

Kofi has lived much longer than Pootis. She was formed inside the female body since fetus age along with about a million other eggs. Kofi beat the odds because a woman’s body only ovulates about 400 times in her life. Kofi was in the ovary of the woman. She was chosen to travel into the fallopian tubes and greet the winner of the race. Kofi will wait
