Title: CSI: A research group of graduate students at UWI is developing an anti-venom for spider bites. However, the most talented student in the group, “Rick Dockey”, who recently won a prestigious international scientific prize, dies unexpectedly at home few hours after a university reception. The coroner’s report indicates that his death followed severe internal bleeding, anemia and kidney failure and there were no visible physical (bodily) anomalies. There were however, few empty glasses and beer bottles left on the dining table in his flat. As a CSI investigator, you must use chemistry concepts to determine if this was murder and if so, solve the case.

Many people die as a result of spider bites each year. As a result there is an urgent need for the development of anti-venoms for spiders which have lethal venoms. Rick Dockey a University of the West Indies (UWI) student who recently won a prestigious international scientific prize was found dead shortly after his university reception. The post mortem report indicates that his death followed severe internal bleeding, anemia and kidney failure and there were no visible physical (bodily) anomalies. There were however, few empty glasses and beer bottles left on the dining table in his flat.
As a CSI investigator it is important to decipher the facts out of a crime scene and determine whether the death of the individual was intentional or not. Crime scene investigation involves the combination of science, logic and law. The processing of a crime scene is a long, tedious process which includes the documentation of facts at the scene, and the collection of physical evidence that could relate to the investigators, exactly what happened. Every crime...
