Abortion is a miscarriage, premature termination of a pregnancy, a misshapen creature, a failure of some project or action. According to Wikipedia, abortion is also the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a foetus or embryo prior to viability. This topic of ‘abortion’ is one which is controversial, meaning that it is one which is debatable. In my eyes, I see people taking abortion as the easy way out of the situation. They may think that if a person happens to get pregnant, they can just have an abortion and that’s the end. They simply don’t understand and recognize what they are doing. Abortion can take place, or can happen in many ways; spontaneously in which there is a miscarriage, or it can be purposely induced. It is said that an estimated 41million induced abortion were performed each year. Drugs are used to interrupt pregnancy. In countries where abortions are illegal (and unsafe) the death rate is as high as 700 per 100,000. These statistics can be contrasted with the death rate from pregnancy and childbirth of about 9 per 100,000. The World Health. Organization estimates that one third of all maternal death results from poorly performed illegal abortion. Abortion differs from contraception because it intervenes after implantation. Studies show that 15%-20% recognized pregnancies end in abortion. The statement “Abortion is the callous murder of an unborn baby” is one to me which is true.

Since life begins at conception, abortion is similar to murder as it is the act of taking human life, which is something living. The definition of something living includes the ability to grow which is what is happening inside a pregnant woman. Abortion ceases the growing process, which is therefore ending the life of a human being. Abortion is taking the right to live from a human being.
