1. What makes Hot Topic so successful as a retailer? Hot topic is a teen focused retailer. They keep up with all the latest trends in culture and music. They use young employees because they are tailored to sell to teens. Hot Topic offers a myriad of cultural items as well as accessories and clothing aimed at a younger market segment. This is why their stuff sells and this is why customers keep coming back. They also cater to plus sized women not many stores do that.

What makes them so popular with their employees? Employees can wear whatever they like. HOTT benefits will exceed your expectations! We offer: Casual Work Environment, Employee Discount, Bonuses, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Concert Reimbursement, and much more!

How can they keep their success going? The can keep their success by keeping up with the trends no matter where they may go. Also keeping up with culture changes and marketing for those changes.

2. How does the idea of no walls and no doors in the corporate headquarters encourage the culture Hot Topic is trying to perpetuate? This is an open concept no secrets to hide from anyone. You can feel free to say what you need to say. This would lead to 100 percent communication for everyone and no one would be left out of the loop. This takes the open door policy to a whole new level.

Do you think you would like to work in such an atmosphere? I guess you can say that I have that now because the building that I am in our direct supervisor sit in the middle of the room and all the mail cases are all around them so they can see everything that going on and so can we. We do have some private offices up front but they are only utilized for certain situations. I like being able to talk to a supervisor whenever the need arises. So I guess the aswer to the...
