A health problem that I have a good chance in facing later in my life is Heart Disease. All of the men in both sides of my family have all experienced at least one heart attack. Most of them died from that heart attack. To combat the heart disease that had plagued my family, I have devised a nutrition and exercise plan that includes healthy choices, balance and variety.

My plan starts with four goals. The first goal that I have set for myself is to ensure that I am getting all of my nutrients on a daily basis. The second goal that I have set for myself is to reduce my intake of the food groups that I am consuming a considerable amount over the recommended amounts for myself. The third goal is to lose weight through an exercise routine. The fourth and final goal is to include foods in my diet that have been proven to assist in fighting heart disease. Through these goals I feel that I will better my chances with the heart disease in my family.

To accomplish my first goal I will use the My Pyramid Tracker website to track my diet for a week and find which nutrients and food groups that I am lacking in. Then I will adjust my diet to include the correct amount of food to satisfy these groups. I will continue to track my progress until I have satisfied all of the groups for a minimum of three weeks. To accomplish my second goal I will use the My Pyramid Tracker website again to asses my current intake for a week. I will use the result to evaluate my diet and make changes accordingly to reduce my intake on groups that I consistently consume a considerably larger amount than recommended. After making adjustments, I will again track my progress and keep adjusting accordingly until I have consistently consumed close to the recommended amounts of each food group and not over by a high amount for three weeks.
