MLK: The Greatest Person of All Time

 

                 Peace. Love. Happiness. Brave. Unselfish. These words describe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This great person once said, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy to a friend.” (Brainyquotes.com/MLKqoutes) What do people call someone who gave his actions, words and life on behalf of others? A wise woman once called it heroic. Dr. King is a hero and a wonderful person. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. served his life for others. His heroic actions have changed the entire world in a short span of time. Without him where would the world be today? Certain people would not have many of the rights that humans are afforded, and the people defiantly would not have the leader of our country President Obama. Ultimately, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the greatest person of all time.

 

              Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and social activist who was in the American civil rights movement. He was an nonviolence man he looked up to Mahatma Gandhi, King wanted equality for African Americans. He was behind watershed events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the March on Washington, which brought out the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and has a day after him that is celebrated each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a U.S. federal holiday since 1986.

The first reason why Martin Luther King Jr. is the greatest human being of all time is because he displayed so many positive characteristics that make him important. He should everyone’s hero. He was significant leader in the U.S. history also a wise woman once said he was the most important U.S. leader due to his unselfish, brave traits and his nonviolent views. Dr. King’s nonviolent views lead the civil rights movement and led to the ending of segregation for African American people. His peace was...
