AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

This research document aims to:

· Critically analyze the function of jury.

· Cite legislation relating to the disqualification of a juror.

· Explain how the disqualification of a deaf juror alters the function of the jury.

· Highlight the advantages of revising relevant legislation.

METHODOLOGY

The research for this research paper will be obtained by the use of questionnaires, interviews with the deaf and oral interviews with sign language interpreters and legal professionals.

Additionally information was obtained from reputable internet source and news paper articles. Also arguments would be supported by relevant legislation, Acts, judicial precedents in relevant cases. The Legislation of international law would also be considered. Relevant quotes made by reputable legal writers and columnists would also be included in an effort to support the topic.
