India Timeline:

1. 4000 BCE, Tribes started to create cooper and bronze tools. These inventions helped start off their society.

2. 7000 - 4000 BCE, Mehrgarh was the first Indian society that was near the Bolan River. The people lived in mud-brick houses and domesticated animals.

3. 3500 BCE, The plow was created. The Indus Valley people were able to advance their agriculture and farming.

4. 2,600 BCE, Pictographic symbols were found in the Indus Valley. These 3000 inscriptions had words and sounds in the characters.

5. 2500, Harappans had sewers and irrigations systems. They thrived off of their technology and trade.

6. 2500-2000 BCE, Harappan societies traded goods with Sumeria. Indian trade seals where found in Sumerian cities. Civilian could trade for manufactured goods.

7. 2500-1500 BCE, Indus Valley societies traded with the Middle East. They people exported cotton cloth, wood, ivory, and beads.

8. 2000 BCE, the Indus River Valley people worshiped fertility gods. The people valued life as seen by their figurines of naked women.

9. 1500 BCE, the Harappans died off due to environmental issues and invaders. The Aryans came to replace them from Central Asia.

10. 1000 BCE, Iron metallurgy began due to the Ganges plain resources. Iron cleared the forests in the region.

11. 2000-1000 BCE, The Rig Vedas were transmitted orally though Sanskrit. The Vedas are the oldest books of Indian beliefs and culture.

12. 2000-1000 BCE, Women studied the Vedas. These ladies were allowed to openly participate in religions.

13. 700 BCE Upanishads were Aryans sages who remade the Aryan religious beliefs. The sages created the Braham the essence of the universe.

14. 700 BCE, the Upanishads allowed women to work as seers and sages. Women had equal status to men.

15. 500 – 400 BCE, Long distance Trade revived after the routes collapsed with the Harrapans. Coins and writing had been made which helped...
