The issue in the case study “Improvements at ServeNow" is that the owner of the ServeNow stores, Mr. Bushley, owns seven stores that keep him busy all the time. Now he is losing 3 mangers and one will be retiring in the near future. He doesn’t think there are replacements for these Managers in his current staff so he has hired a small-business consultant to help him with the personnel changes and to give ideas how to train and communicate effective to transition in the future. At the moment Mr. Bushley doesn’t have any time, let alone to train and develop individuals that might not have any familiarity with this type of operation. The use of technology in the fast pace and ever changing business world is essential and can make it very easy to start new procedures or enhance current methods to make your business run more smoothly. The business world is using technology in so many ways, for example, technology is used to simplify communication by the use of various technological tools, it is used for remote employee training, it is used share knowledge and share work, technology is used for human resource management, it is also used to create a reporting system for your employees that will require them to submit a status report, either through email or by phone, on a regular basis, and so much more.

As a small-business consultant helping the ServeNow owner, it would be important when communicating with potential new hire managers that if they don’t have experience in the ServeNow store operations on a resume, ask some thorough questions and see what kind of work that they have done. In the absence of experience, the potential employee should have good managerial communications, are technically savvy and have a clear understanding of the way ahead if hired at one of the stores. Mr. Bushley has to alter his previous management style and the best way to start implementing the change is immediate. A good detailed and developed plan will be need to be started....
