William Crapo Durant created the greatest failure which lead to Chevrolet. One year after he incorporated General Motors, Durant want to buy Ford. In order for Durant to buy Ford there was significant amount money due for a down payment. Durant lost control of General Motors to bankers in 1910 due to financial crisis (Durant, 2014).

Planning is the establishment of goals, policies, and procedures for a social or economic unit (Merriam-Webster, 2014). This particular job systematic skill that controls who, when, and how the job will be achieve. This course of action has to take place across the board for future endeavor. The company has a plan to compete with the competitor and remaining profit for their own use. In order for this to happen the owner has to collect the information and understand the idea corresponding with the plan. The main process would be to study your competitor gains, losses, and the environment or economic conditions.

In 1911, Durant started all over and link with Chevrolet. That same year Louis Chevrolet and William Durant incorporated Chevrolet Motor Company. Chevrolet was not build in a day, it took time. Louis and Chevrolet (the person not the car) had many trials and tribulations in the process of achieving their goals. Not only did they have short terms goals but long ones as well. Their goals did not come easily. Louis was more into developing luxury cars and Durant name was known for developing cars with performance, endurance and denomination. Today, Chevrolet is one on top brand cars and capabilities of Chevrolet remains unchanged (Bartlett, 2014). The first Chevrolet, the Classic Six, was a premium car priced at $2,150 (Chevrolet, 2014). The five-passenger touring car was powered by a six-cylinder engine that produced just 40 horsepower, though it did use twin camshafts (Ripley, 2014). Today, this car is consider a classic. Today, Chevrolet is known for its elegance, reliability, and meticulousness.
