I have no idea what it is like to be a boy but I can only imagine. With all the statistics society presents it seems as though the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and that men have much easier lives. Could I handle the pressure and dodge the stereotype?

I personally believe that who ever said men and women are equal must be blind. Women have always taken a back seat to men in American society. There has always seemed to be one set of standards that apply to men, and another set of standards that apply to women. This is evident in the home, workplace, and all throughout society. I would like to briefly discuss some of the differences that we learn about our gender, which will enable us to better understand men, and women. Our supposed roles as men and women start at the hospital when we are born. Boys get blue blankets while girls get pink blankets. I would like to know if it would be easier to be a man and succeed in this world than to struggle as a woman just to prove your brilliance and worth.

Boys are raised to be aggressive, tough, dominant, and daring, while girls are raised to be passive, emotional, sweet, and subordinate. The expectations that parents hold for each of their children vary among their gender role. For instance, I had to always maintain A’s and B’s on my report card when I was younger and since my brother has been in school he’s received D’s and F’s and they let it pass without punishment.
