Modell Charter School Case Study

Project Description

BUS4091 - Project Management 1

The effort of this project is to bring modern technology to Modell Charter School adding the use of an ERP technology. The explanations resulting from a analysis/matrix (SWOT) in current school mission, organizational philosophy and culture, management setup, and operational procedures displayed results that there is a little to no information and know-how and the schools management is not being held responsible. The scope of this project includes the certain installation and implementation of computers and laptops that will be accessed by staff, students, and administrators each with access according to their particular needs, while maintaining the budget of 75 million dollars set by the school board.

ERP project will allow a solution for the school with information access for students, parents, and others with processes that will allow the Modell to stream information out to parents and staff in a timely manner.

It is the goal of the team to have this installation completed by year end of 2015 with all bugs and issues corrected while staying on track, in scope, and maintaining the set budget. The stakeholder and project team will sit down to define what tasks shall be performed and at what pace.

The highest risk is cost due to failure as the vendor has noted. It would be in the plan of this team to find out what those issues were for others and keep those in mind while working on this project and stay in constant communication with stakeholders to ensure understanding with each stop of the implementation process.
