A. Analyze the situation

* The purpose is to inform and persuade Mama Yaa, whom is an international storyteller. I want to inform her about the annual Gullah Festival and to persuade her to speak and entertain as well.

* The purpose is worthwhile and realistic because Mama Yaa could learn a great deal at the Gullah Festival and the people attending the Gullah Festival could learn a great deal from Mama Yaa. And it is very realistic because I am not asking her to do magic tricks! I just want her to share her travels, adventures, experiences and artwork as well as for her to tell her stories of the African American tradition and culture.

* The primary audience is the young and old, all religions, races and nationalities.

B. Gather information.

* Using formal and informal techniques should be used because it a way of being demanding or desperate but not really coming off in the tone in such a way.

* The audience needs to know the facts on this festival and what makes it a success.

* All required information will be accurate, ethical and pertinent.

C. Select the best medium for your message.

* The advantages and disadvantages are understood. At the festival, oral, written and visual media will be used.

* The cost of the advertising for the event and how it is advertised would be the considering factors.

D. Organize your information.

* The main idea is to educate people of all ages and ethnicities on the education and the preservation of the African American Gullah culture.

* I will use a direct because I am contacting Mama Yaa three months before the festival and I need a response as soon as possible, so I will know if I should add her to the list of entertainers that are performing at the Gullah Festival.

* Storytelling would be used to describe the Gullah Festival to Mama Yaa in the email...
