(Transistor Amplifier)

Abstract

The purpose of this lab is to build a voltage amplifier to power an audio speaker. We powered the amplifiers using the power supply made in lab 1. We wish the amplifier to have a gain of 12V/V at design frequency 2kHz, an input impedance greater than 10 kOhm. This amplifier is made of a common collector amplifier and a common emitter. We found the required parts for our amplifier by finding the currents going through our amplifiers then using KVL and Ohm’s law. The gain of the amplifier is 14.9 V/V, with input impedance of 16 kOhm, and finally an output voltage of 11.5 V. When connecting our audio amplifier to the circuit, we are able to hear sound from the source. With these results, our amplifiers have reached our expectations for the lab.
