This case study proves that Adidas has used ground-breaking marketing strategies while sponsoring Olympic Games. Established by Adolf Dassler in Germany in 1949, Adidas is one of the largest global sport brands around the world. It is known for its three stripes logo. Adidas marketing strategies is aimed at being the top sports brand in all over the universe. It plans to do this by ensuring that the athletes are faster, stronger, cooler, natural and stronger. Its other strategy is creating new customer experiences through training and then increasing global footprint. The portfolio of the product ranges from sports footwear and clothing to bags, eyewear, watches, and sport-related equipment. Subsidiaries like Reebok, TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, Reckport and CCM-Hockey help to employ over 46,000 people. The Groups revenue was 3.383 Billion in the second quarter of 2013.

Marketing is the most important part in which to reach success. This is because competition is just around the corner. Businesses have to concentrate on their customers and make sure they can target those. The elements making up the marketing mix in reference to Adidas are product, price, place and promotion. These are reasons that make this brand so successful.

Another reason this brand is so successful is because of their sponsorship. Sponsorship is when a business or company pays to be involved with something else. I feel that the biggest sponsorship Adidas has is the Olympics. The fact that they targeted athletes and made dress wear and footwear to use while competing made the athletes feel comfortable. Because they were comfortable in what they were wearing, the athletes were more competitive, which led to their success.
