Abstract
Our everyday lives all connected with Christ. This is true in our work, our education, and with our friends and loved ones. God created this world for us to learn and grow and all things point to Him, and direct us towards Him. This is true in the study of corporate finance as well. The principles taught in corporate finance tie closely to the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Three specific examples are short and long-term financial planning and planning ones life for God, measuring risk and measuring the risk of not following the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the time value of money and life with Christ. These three principles show how Christians should remain focused on our connection with Christ and live each day fulfilling our relationship to Him.
Gospel Principles Seen in Corporate Finance
Introduction
Many principles in our everyday work, education, and relationship tie closely with the gospel of Jesus Christ. God intended our lives to have meaning and purpose and for all things in this life connect to him. We are taught regarding God that “for whom are all things, and by whom are all things” (Hebrews, 2:10, KJV). It is similar with corporate finance, as the principles taught in corporate finance tie closely to the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Three specific examples are short and long-term financial planning and planning ones life for God, measuring risk and measuring the risk of not following the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the time value of money and life with Christ. These three principles show how closely our lives are in connection to the Savior, and how we as Christians should always be focused on our connection with Him.
