Dear Mr. Chairman,

Hello, I am the new member of the advisory committee, JJUHHU. Our committee have been discussing about the way of portraying Napoleon Bonaparte of France. Since the portrayal can affect the image of the museum. Our carefully debated and chosen perspective of Napoleon Bonaparte is that he was a hero to the French.

Many critics say that Napoleon was a blood thirsty tyrant who was crazy in war, but the committee believes that his accomplishments and characteristic shows more positive side than the negative. Napoleon was not only beloved by his citizens, rearranged the chaotic France and is known to be a very humble man.

Napoleon was a hero to the French, and is still one of the most respected people of France. People believe that Napoleon’s position as the emperor was only done by force and the coup‘d’état he did, but actually, he was voted by the citizens. Before the reign, Napoleon had two votes, one for president for life, and the other for the emperor of France, both earning more than 3million votes. Both votes he was deserved to be elected and become what he became later on. Also, after he died, the people were in tears and built him a huge tomb that still exists now. It was not only the citizens who missed Napoleon, Victor Hugo, famous for his novel Les Miserable, critiqued him in 1822, but later on in 1827, he wrote a novel reminiscing his times. We believe that the most important view to an ambiguous person is the viewpoint of the country he is from. Finally, a good example that showed how much people missed Napoleon is when Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, aka Napoleon III, was elected the Emperor of France. He was not in direct relation with Napoleon (son of Josephine’s daughter from her first marriage and Napoleon’s brother), nor he was a talented leader like Napoleon, but he was voted for only one reason – he has some kind of relation with Napoleon.
