The Fender Mustang Floor Guitar Effects Pedal

Multi-effect pedals for electric guitar are not new to musicians. I have used several different pedals made by several different companies and at costs ranging from $250 to $600 over the last twenty years. I have used these products in many diverse musical situations such as churches, clubs and open outdoor venues. I have used the Fender Mustang Floor Guitar Pedal for about eight months now and it is by far one of the best that I have used. Fender has filled this pedal with excellent recreations of some of their best amplifiers and given the user complete control over them all. I wanted a pedal that allowed me a variety of tones and when you take into account the options, usability and price of this pedal, you come away with a definite winner in the multi-effect industry.

The unit is black in color and solidly constructed of metal. The layout of the nine buttons is very to navigate. These buttons are used for bank switching which is changing set patches that contain specific combinations of amplifiers, effects and the parameters of both. The buttons are also used for turning on and off effects, operating the tuner and setting delay times. The expression pedal is for volume control and altering parameters of specific effects such as shortening or lengthening delay.

The backside of the unit has all the input and output jacks. The guitar input is first followed by the loop send and return connections. The auxiliary connection is a one-eighth inch connector for plugging in an MP3 player for playing along to tracks or music. Next is the headphones connector which is for practicing quietly. The next two connectors are the unbalanced right and left quarter –inch outputs. These are for plugging into and amplifier or a direct box.
