Introduction

The reason for choosing to write my research paper about the impact of global warming on the global economy is because it is a topic I knew very little about, and I wanted my research to be a learning experience, therefore not choosing a topic I already have some knowledge about. Before I started doing any research for this paper, I noticed an increasing amount of articles in the media talking about the effects of climate change, but most of those articles did not consider the effect it has on the global economy, or on any economy for that matter.

More focus was put on the health issues it causes for people, rather than the economical gains or losses from the phenomenon.

In addition global warming is a current issue that many economists are addressing. The evidence of the damage caused by global warming has been identified and recorded by scientists throughout the world; therefore I believed it would be a topic where a lot of data would be available to me.
