Leadership

1. Draw upon the assigned readings and course materials to individually select a personal LEADERSHIP development GOAL and formulate a PLAN to improve your skill in that area. For example, leaders are ethical, assertive, patient, and decisive, organized and have bold ideas. Leaders encourage peers and empower subordinates to achieve desired outcomes and reach their full talent potential. Which skill do you need to work on in order to enhance your leadership skills and improve your leadership effectiveness? It is acceptable to select a skill other than those listed, that is covered in the assigned readings.

Each student will reflect on his or her work/life interactions and experiences and prepare a personal leadership plan. In this personal leadership plan, you will decide on goals for improving your leadership skills. Your goals must be directly related to improving your leadership skills. Do not include goals related to graduation, promotions, or career advancement, however, you may discuss these events as examples if this is where you experienced leadership. You will submit a deliverable that addresses the following:

SECTION 1: ASSESSMENT - (75 points - 3 pages) This must include the results of the DiSC assessment. The most important portion for this section is a discussion of your scores in the following areas:

1. Personal Behavioral Style (DISC)

2. Assessment of Strengths

3. Assessment of Weaknesses

4. Motivational style

5. Communication style

6. Emotional response style

7. Decision-making style

8. Behavior under tension or conflict style

9. Suggestions for Improving Effectiveness in Relating with Others

SECTION 2: Self Awareness - (75 points - 5 pages) Discuss the following:

* Focus on and list 2 personal leadership skills in which you are strong.
