According to Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) (2014), “US Children are 17 times more likely to be killed by gun those children in other higher-income countries” In addition SDF alludes to the fact that the number of children and teen keeled by guns every day in America is seven. Well, these two statement by CDF are an indicator that American children are the highest lot in the world to involve in crime activities especially gun violence. The one thing that comes into mind from the above statements is what gangs are. Well, according to Jankowski, gangs are self-formed associations of peers united by mutual interest but with identifiable leadership and internal organization who act collectively or individually to achieve specific purposes such as conducting illegal activity and control of a particular territory, facility or enterprise (1991). We can, 5herefire, conclude that gangs mainly engage in different crime activities through demonstration of their possession of distinctive territories and turfs.

Major U.S cities such as New York and California usually record higher cases of children and the public being killed from time to time as a result of gun violence, a situation that many crime analysts find to be getting out hand as day pass by (Waldaman, 2014). The National Gang Centre not that the various gang types are classified depending on the age, activity, and locality of a group meaning that different gangs have specific characteristics that differentiate them from other gangs.
