The Death Penalty in the United States

In the United States the government makes many decisions for us, whether we agree or not. One decision that the government made that not everyone agrees is the death penalty. The death penalty is decided by the states. Each state varies with the death penalty, some states are for and some are opposed. Even though there are more states with the death penalty there are still a great number of states against the death penalty and that number is increasing.

There is not one person in this world that is perfect, that has never made a mistake. Everyone will make mistakes in life, many mistakes throughout their life time. Some people’s mistakes are much worse than others, for example those who commit crimes. Almost everyone will commit a crime in their lifetime, some smaller than others. No matter how bad the crime is there is no reason to be put to death for that crime. When someone is convicted of a crime and sent to prison is it really necessary to add death row to that consequence? No, the death penalty is a superfluous consequence and should not be included.

The death penalty is an issue for a lot of people in the world today. People are conflicted over whether or not it is a good punishment or if it goes too far. The death penalty is definitely an unnecessary punishment for anyone, no matter how bad the crime was that they committed.

To be sentenced for life in prison is a much worse punishment than being executed. Instead of sending someone to death, the criminals will just sit in jail and be forced to live with what they have done and that is by far a worse punishment. Those criminals will never be able to escape what they have done and will live with that until they die on their own.

There are many problems with the death penalty in the United States today. A major reason is that it is morally wrong. The government is sending people to death, the government is killing these criminals. No matter what someone has...
