history and lineage?
Passion for Selling.
Selling has been my profession ever since I’ve graduated from college. Actually at first I
would want to practice my profession, which is electrical engineering and was set to work as
an engineer in an industrial plant. However, by “accident”, the first job that I took was
selling generator sets . Since selling of the generator sets is like selling hotcakes during that
time (because of the power crisis in the early 1990s), I can consider that my first stint in
professional selling was very successful and rewarding. Because of this I continued my career in selling and up to now after , I’m still in sales and marketing.
It is worth mentioning also that during my college days, I have augmented my cash allowance by selling T-shirts, denim pants, etc. I would get all my merchandise from Divisoria thru
consignment and I would sell these to friends, classmates, etc.
Right now, I indulge myself on the side by selling items I procure from the places that I visit. I sell coffee from Benguet, Kalinga and Batangas, wooden ironing board, delicacies like
Silvanas, and other items.
Why do I find selling very enjoyable? Well, I believe that when you are selling a product or
an idea, you are first selling yourself. You have to gain the trust of the people you’re selling
to, otherwise you will not be able to sell. There is an instant self-fullfilment everytime that I
make a sale, it reinforces my confidence in myself.
Also, selling is an art. I enjoy going through the process and what is worth noting is that
every sale is unique. Thus the process may be the same, but the approach, the pacing and the
techniques are different for each and every customer.
Selling also allows me to travel to different places. I have visited almost all the places in the
