Yao, et al. (2012) describes Disk Cloning (or Disk Imaging) as a process of copying the content of a Hard Disk Drive of a computer to another disk drive or a solid state drive. The Drive cloning has many usages, such as using the drive image to upgrade the HDD to a faster drive such as the SSD. The drive cloning may be used instead to create a backup of the HDD in the computer, and the backup may later be used to recover the computer.

It is related to the current study because it explains the basic definition and advantages of disk imaging. Disk cloning and Disk imaging are similar because they both create a full backup for a computer hard drive. The only difference is that Disk imaging stores the backup into a file which can be retrieved for later use. Whether it is upgrading a desktop or having data backups, disk imaging is a valuable tool for any user.

Bezroukov (2012) stated that money spent on commercial AV should better be spent for creating fast image-based backup subsystem and 1 or 2 TB USB drives. This amount of space permits creating images on a weekly basis and keeping them for several months. This allows the user to restore his computer in case of troubles in approximately three to four hours instead of three four days.

It is related to the posed study because disk imaging technology has evolved in such a way that it can rival the speed of an antivirus software in terms of computer system restoration. With Disk imaging, there is no need to worry from corrupted system files that may result from antivirus software operations....
