Bill and Soul’s Conflict
Analysis
1) e. Adapted child
Because Bill responded with confrontational responses that showed anxiety and inadequacy.
2) c. Adult
Saul behaved in a very thinking, realistic and unemotional manner. He always showed calmness in his behavior.
3) c. Crossed
From the beginning, Bill tried to make Saul believe he was doing the right thing when he wanted to fulfill the organizational success with that huge sale. He was looking for his sympathy. He applied Machiavelli’s Principle “The end justifies the means”: no matter how much effort and sacrifice Saul had to do in order to make Saul’s needs true.
4) b. I’m ok- You’re not ok
The empathy is one-sided. Bill never tried to understand Saul’s position or point of view. He was only concerned about his numbers and personal success.
5) b. Aggressive
Bills falls in the “aggressive behavior” category. He was very demanding, pushy and insistent in getting his own way of doing business. He wanted to gain control always.

Saul expressed his opinions without any aggressive behavior. He was positive, confident, and honest offering a reasonable solution for both parties. That way he was creating a win-win situation for the conflict.

Because Saul interfered with Bill’s efforts at achieving his goal.

Rather than organizational objectives, Bill was pursuing his personal objectives. He was trying to change the standard order time. He was out of the big picture angle.

It was an autocratic attempt to satisfy his own needs at the expense of Saul’s ones. Win-lose situation created. Threating him with Mr. Carlson.
10) e. Collaborating
Saul tried to resolve the conflict giving a solution agreeable to both parties. Meaning, Bill was...
