III. EXTRA CREDIT

The sculpture that caught my attention was the “Figure if a young dancer, Mohenjo-Daro; this sculpture can be found in chapter 2 in our book on page 40. This particular piece of art has drawn my attention for many different reasons. When I studied the image I noticed the sculpture stood with great posture, right hand on the hip and head boasted out into the air. This allows me to know that they’re standing with pride, dignity, and respect! Which are all very important aspects to have all throughout life. Being as though she was a dancer that has to mean she was very confident in her dancing skill as well. I a strong believer in having confidence in your life somewhere and somehow; whether it’s confidence in looks, spirituality, dance, music or whatever, know that you do it well. This sculpture actually reminds me of myself, I am a person with great confidence when it comes to a certain skill or even with anything that has to do with me.

Sculptures in today’s world are very different in comparison to the ones in the archaic years. They are easier to visualize exactly what the sculpture (or painting) may be. Artist are being more descriptive in there work. It isn’t necessary to study the image before giving your prospection of what it actually is (to you). It’s also safe to say that artist nowadays don’t take the time to use different techniques to help the viewer visualize could be by adding simple detail I the back to make he images look more live. I remember seeing a video clip in class that said exactly what this was called but I can’t think of the name of it. (I should have written it down) But if this was done more I really think more people would be more into sculptures, paintings and those types of things.
