Executive summary

The condominium market has changed dramatically in Bangkok over the last 20 years which is driven by changes in social patterns, growing incomes and developing of infrastructure. Thais people are now moving away from their parents’ homes and purchase or rent more condominium for a living before they get married and have their own family.

Therefore, the improvement, the convenience and the completion of MRT, BTS or BRT have made life in the city easier and that Thais do not need to have cars.

The condominium market in Thailand is still growing as there is the government policy support. And therefore the behavior of the Thais has been changed. The combination of changes in social patterns, new infrastructure and increase in incomes has created what we called a sky train generation that wants to live and work in the city and wants to be as close to a mass transit station as possible to ignore the traffic jam in the city and we still believe that condominiums will also be in the growth period as long as we still have traffic congestion, high land prices and limited mass transportation.
