A report on my 3 general orders and why I should not sleep on guard. The three general orders dates back to the declaration of independence. I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.I'm responsible for everything that occurs within the limits of my post while I'm on duty. I'm also responsible for all equipment and property located within the limits of his post. Examples are the motor pool, and the battalion area. The person on, me should always stay alert and look for suspicious activities within the area and apprehend any persons who are breaking and entering. The only time a person should leave there post is when going through rotation to get food chow. I will obey my special orders and perform all my duties in a military manner. The persons on guard will familiarize himself with the special orders for his post prior to being posted. The guard will obey, execute, and enforce all special orders pertaining to his post. The commander of the guard is responsible for insuring that all guards understand their special instructions prior to being posted. In addition to his special orders, the person on guard is responsible to obey and carry out any orders or instructions from the commander of the relief. I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions, to the commander of the relief. Which means to report any disorders. Examples are breaking and entering, someone giving you a hard time or anything suspicious.

In relation to article 92 a person who is willing fully to negate or stray from duty, such as being asleep or not have alertness or wakefulness. Being intoxicated and shooting ones self not being able to do your duty at your post. Falling asleep on guard can be extremely hazardous to you and everyone around you. It can be the meaning of life and death and or losing rank under ucmj action. You...
