CASE 1

This is a case of a male who is 21 years old. He states he has heard about HIV from some of his friends and has started to worry about whether he may be infected. He reports having had unprotected vaginal sex with several different female partners. Discussion also reveals that he occasionally uses injecting drugs with his closest friend. He reports that the needle she uses are shared and not cleaned between uses. He feels that it is not possible to give up this activity with his friend but he would like to discuss safe injecting with him.

Pretest Counselling

It is a one-on-one counseling and confidentiality, the immediate solution for an HIV person is suicidal which supports the clients in managing the potential risks and difficulties.

In this case I had to talk with the client with confident and understanding regarding to his case and also talk to him verbally a heart to heart feeling, explain the risks of having an HIV or what is HIV really means. I had to be patient and calm to my client so he can trust me well. I have to explain to this HIV patient about what is safe sex? With by step by step procedure so he can follow and understand what is safe sex all about.

Safe sex is sexual activity engaged in by people who have taken precautions to protect themselves against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV/AIDS. It is also referred to as safer sex or protected sex, while unsafe or unprotected sex is sexual activity engaged in without precautions.
