Three Organizations & their use of Digital Media to Represent Products

Microsoft’s XBOX is a video gaming brand product created and owned by Microsoft. The brand also represents a series of game consoles, video games, streaming services, and an online service known as Xbox Live (Microsoft, 2014). The website’s digital media includes an automatic slide show of the latest video games and also features a more immersive and interactive digital multimedia that provides experiences such as videos and interactive games directly on the website. The vivid content attracts teens and young adults which effectively delivers the message to the targeted online audience via instant streaming. Several pictures and videos depicting teens and young adults( the targeted audience) enjoying the video gaming experience provides an intense consumer engagement therefore very few symbols are needed to convey the message; however, the Xbox logo as well as the well known Microsoft logo keeps focus on the brands and is also duly noted on the website. Other symbols identified on the website include social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Tumbler, Pinterest, and Twitter in order for customers to “follow” Xbox. Display and video ads help connect Microsoft Xbox with casual and core gaming audiences. Other types of visual aids include pictures of the various game consoles with dimensions and other specifics. Microsoft Xbox website also has an interactive forum that allows customers to sigh up as members to receive the latest news and information on games, video systems, etc. on smartphones, emails, and tablets which keeps the consumers engaged. (Microsoft, 2014).
