Installing, setting up and configuring a Network card.

Instructions:

The network cards connect to PCI slots. Find a vacant slot in the computer and lightly push the card in the slot until it clicks and holds in place.

When the card is inside the expansion slot, next you put a screw in the top of the card to ensure the card stays in position.

Next you connect the Wake-On-LAN cable. This wakes the computer when network activity has started. If there are cables that are with the network card then you install the cables also but only if your PC supports them.

When the network card has been physically installed into the PC, then you put the case back onto the computer and when that is done you then connect the keyboard, mouse, monitor power and network cable to the back of the computer and the other end to another network outlet, hub, switch, or router.

When this is connected you can then turn the computer on and install the drivers for the Network card.

However if you do not have drivers for your network card or even if the network card drivers that are included do not seem to work, then you can find links to network drivers on the internet.

When the network card has been installed, then you must set the configuration values for the network card in the software.
