Abstract

Exxon Mobil, a leader in world oil and gas operations was founded in 1859. Exxon Mobil Corporation has numerous affiliates, with many names that include ExxonMobil, Exxon, Mobil, Esso and XTO. Exxon Mobil Corporation explores, develops, and distributes oil and natural gas. Exxon was founded in the United States and its headquarters is in Irving, Texas. Exxon’s target market is at 422.3 billion dollars as of this year, 2014. Their assets and profits are both well over billions of dollars. Their sales reach 394 billion dollars. Exxon Mobil employs over 75000 employees throughout the world. ExxonMobil’s competitive advantages include a balanced portfolio, disciplined investing, high impact technologies, operating excellence, global integration, and a focus on maximizing value while enhancing efficiency. . In the following essay we will explore in depth more about Exxon and their marketing strategies.

Exxon Mobil Corp. was formed by the merger of two major oil companies, Exxon and Mobil. Both Exxon and Mobil were descendants of the John Rockefeller Corporation. Exxon Mobil is one of many gas and oil operating businesses throughout the world. While some may see Exxon Mobil as just a local gas station, there is more to this worldwide brand. The mainline of business for Exxon is to explore, develop, and distribute basic oil and natural gas. Exxon Mobil has invested 41 billion dollars in original gas production throughout the United States. While Exxon Mobil operates in a plethora of countries we will focus in on 4 of those countries. These countries include Canada, Argentina, France, and Kuwait. ExxonMobil is a leading developer and producer of oil and gas off Canada's East Coast.
